The Fall in Review

Okay! I have time to breathe (for a moment!) So I thought I would catch up my blog with all the happenings from fall.

To start October off, we bought our house! That was such an exciting and stressful experience for us but well worth it. I blogged a little on it below but I don't have any updated pictures to post yet. We're still working on it though.

On Dwayne's actual birthday day, we went to dinner at Stockmans and took fun pictures outside the coffee shop with Captain Morgan!

Dwayne with Captain Morgan!

Dwayne's birthday is in the beginning of October as well and to celebrate we went to Reno to see a comedian he likes, Jeff Dunham.

The first picture is the opening screen of the show, the second picture is him in action and the third is us sitting in our seats at Reno Events Center.

The beginning of October is also our wedding anniversary. We've been married for three years now. Time flies! We met in 2001, when I was just 16 and D was just 19. We've been together ever since! To celebrate we spent the weekend in Tahoe. Dwayne had planned the whole weekend as a surprise for me. We were supposed to take a hot air balloon ride, something I've wanted to do for a very long time, but, we can't control the weather and it was cancelled. Bummer but it was such a nice weekend anyway because we were able to spend it together, time together is something we run short on these days.

The end of October was no different than the beginning. It proved to be just as busy. With all the changes in our lives and with school still in full swing we forced ourselves to make time for some holiday festivities. For our monthly date Dwayne and I went to Lattin Farms and went through the corn maze and then to dinner.

Having visited the corn maze, it was offically time for Halloween!

We had a good time at our first Halloween party in our new house! My sister was Willy Wonka, Dwayne was a headless man and I was a corrections officer.

You've gotta' have friends and mine were Paris Hilton (AKA my bestie Erin) and the chick off My name is Erl (AKA Allison)....needless to say this pic was taken a little later in the night....

Thanksgiving came and went in blur but I was able to spend it with my family. I had so much to be thankful for I can't even begin to list everything. I find myself reflecting on everything again as I get ready for Christmas. I hope you all are taking time to slow down this holiday season and spending time with those who matter to you. I will leave you with this years Christmas card pictures:

So Slow

Okay, I know, I know....I haven't posted a new blog in like a month and a half or so. Our lives have been super busy! For whatever reason, October always proves to be such a busy month for us and this year was no exception. I have many, many things to blog about in regards to October but sadly, it will not be on this blog. This is just to say that I will get some things posted here soon. I PROMISE! We have much to share......

Welcome Home Macies!

HERE IT IS!!!!!

We are officially homeowners ( well technically the bank owns my home and they are letting us live in it and call it ours for "small" fee)! We finally closed on Friday the 3 of October after what seemed like the longest week!

The last few days D has been busy moving our stuff over to the new house from the rental we've been in. Over the last month we've been buying things to spruce up the new house and these last few days, D has worked on getting it all put together. We've got three walls painted, only about 14 more to go!

I am so happy to have my own home but super nervous all at the same time! It'll be good though, I know. Enjoy the rough pictures and I will post more as we get things done on the house.

A Little Friendly Rivalry....

So, my grandpa is from Philly, and my hubby is from Texas. What do you get when you put the two together? Really fun Monday night football rivalries when the Cowboys play the Eagles. For the last couple of years, we have lived two houses down from my grandpa. The first year we moved into this house my husband put a sign up by the garage that said "Cowboys Parking Only" that same year the Eagles beat the Cowboys and my grandpa crept over and put a printed computer paper over our sign that said "Eagles Parking Only" and so......the rivalry continues. Tonight the Cowboys played the Eagles for Monday night football and they won. My hubby, printed off a very nice sign and we ran over to grandpa's house and hung it just outside their door where he's sure to find it the next time he comes outside!
It's dark ( I didn't want the flash to give us away!) but you can see Dwayne hanging the sign!
The "Cowboys Parking Only" for all to see!

Taking a Study Break...

Okay, so I don't think there is anything anyone can tell you that can prepare you for just how much time you end up devoting to studying and NOT to sleeping, family, work, cleaning. socializing....etc. while in nursing schoool. I knew this was going to be a comittment but I just wasn't prepared for the whole, ceasing to exist thing. Oh well, it'll pay off in the long run right? Well, its after mid-night and I have an exam in less than nine hours. I've been studying all day, and I think it's time to call it quits. I'm going to head to bed but I thought I post a quick blog about it. Now, if I do this right, there should be pictures of my nursing school endeavor. Here we go.....

These are my beautiful close up shots of my handy-dandy, nifty-spiffy uniform!

This is where I study, yes, I know, it is a closet. Hopefully the new house will have a real place for my "office" to be.

Yes, I give in!

So, after many many weeks of reading friends' blogs, and they in return encouraging me to start my own blogspot, I have decided to do so. This page will be a wonderful place for everyone to keep tabs on the Macie family (since anyone who knows us, knows it's hard to keep track of us!) and all that we do.

Perhaps the newest thing to happen in our lives is the purchase of a new house. We've had our eye out for a year or so now for a good deal on a house. We haven't been actively searching but we haven't been closed to the idea of homeowning should the right house happen along. Well, as luck would have it, we got a fairly good deal on a very nice house and now here we are, only two and a half weeks away from close of escrow and move in time!

As soon as I can remember it, I'll take a picture of the house and post it up here for all to see. Stay tuned for our many new adventures!
