Tennis Time!

Regional Tennis Courts

With the nice weather we've been having we decided we should get back into the "swing" of things..hahaha...and start playing tennis. I played tennis on the high school tennis team and then taught both Mellie and Steve how to play too. They ended up playing all their high school years as well. Dwayne has always liked playing tennis so it makes for some nice nights of doubles and singles tennis.

Before we got started we bought some cans of fresh balls. There's nothing worse than playing with old, flat tennis balls.

Yes, that's me smelling the tennis ball can. For some reason the smell of a freshly opened can is great!

Jordan even came this night and so I was giving him a quick lesson before he started his game. He's pretty good for never having really played before. He's got great power and can hit really well...he just needs some fine tuning (and little practice...and his own racket)!

Dwayne and me after it was all said and done. We are sweaty, tired and wind blown. The breeze started to pick up toward the end.

Mellie and me when it was all said and done, she was my doubles partner! Yes it's dark but the courts have lights you can put quarters into to turn them on. Lets you play after the sun goes down!
Hopefully we'll get many more nights of tennis in this summer!
